is how things are shaping up. these are post super tuesday polls. mitt romney is in the lead now in alabama. rick santorum did have a lead in some polls a couple days ago, but romney out in front 31%. rick santorum trailing by 10 points. newt gingrich and ron paul in third and fourth place in those races. and the gingrich campaign has said they are risking everything on those two southern primaries. they have always felt that that sweep through the south should be where newt gingrich would be capable of being strong. a campaign spokesman for mr. gingrich says they are a must-win in alabama and mississippi. he won georgia handily. last night in birmingham gingrich predicted victory. >> when we win this primarily and the primary next door we will have reset this primary race. it's the most amazing thing i have ever seen. >> reporter: gingrich canceled planned events in kansas. he has won fewer total delegates than both mitt romney and rick santorum. so watch that. bill: we have fox news alert. new job numbers in the number of americans filing for first time benefits up to 362,000.

governor jeb bush says that mitt romney is indeed his pick for the nominee. in a statement bush says it is time to unite behind governor romney in his opinion and that was greeted in some quarters with pleasure. >> just before we left to fly here this morning ann and i were together. it was, it is our anniversary. thank you. [applause] my, my cell phone rang and i looked at it. just said jeb on it. i picked up the phone and it was jeb bush. [applause] he said, i didn't even have to ask. mitt, i want to let you know i'm endorsing you today. and that was good news. of attention. rick santorum leads the way in ohio right now. he's got 35% of the vote to mitt romney's 31%. newt gingrich 17%. he has high hopes for the south. ron paul always hopes to be the wildcard in any one of these races. he's at 12%. ohio is a crucial state on the road to the nomination as it always is, in this case because it's a tight race between santorum and romney. a lot of folks in ohio are starting to look at this and think about who they want to vote for. 65% say their mind are pretty much made up. but 35% say they could change their minds based on what they hear in the coming days. you have got to get to 1,144 for the delegate race. we are going from 183 with which for mitt romney in his column. so this will be a significant moment. many would expect -- unless it gets spread out evenly. we'll get to some kind of resolution. bill: ohio will get a lot of attention, and so will georgia. gingrich put a lot of his focus on winning that state. santorum telling voters the government has to stop taking your money and giving it to other people. >> they are taking wealth from some a

's kind of important, don't you think. a big win for mitt romney. a decisive victory. romney getting 47% of the vote. rick santorum. %. newt gingrich coming in fourth. no delegates for paul or gingrich. on the road to 1,144, romney is 565, he's almost halfway there. santorum 263. gingrich and paul remain unchanged. it turns out the ballots were the wrong size at one polling place. your job is to come up with ballots and they do not fit in the ballot box. poll workers said they have never even anything like it. >> this morning just that much that curled up on the edges of the ballot box. martha: remember the hanging chads. the problem was quickly fixed and the new paper ballots were issues. bill: but there was no evidence of a butterfly ballot in cook county. voters in minnesota may soon need a photo i.d. to cast their ballot. law makers in the house passed a proposal to add a voter i.d. amendment to the constitution. the amendment proposal will be put to a referendum come november. so watch that up in minnesota. martha: that's just the beginning. we have those stories and lots more comi
